c.1955 Usagiya Toys, Police Motorcycle in Original Box
Usagiya Toys manufactured this exceptional tin litho friction drive Police Motorcycle. It comes with its original box with an illustrated cover that's so bad it's fantastic! The toy is friction drive which runs on a large rubber front tire and two small black rubber training wheels underneath the center. It's beautifully embossed and lithoed in red, white, blue, black, and orange. It has a separate rear license plate and chrome metal handlebars. It features a mildly grinning helmeted cop with goggles riding a large P.D. motorcycle. Usagiya's rabbit logo was lithoed on the left rear fender. I believe that usagiya translates to rabbit in Japanese. The box shows a Police Motorcyclist speeding down a city hill. The drawing is accurate except for the very odd looking face of the rider. The rabbit trademark was printed in the lower right corner. Size: 8". Sold: Jun. 2013
